Welcome to the SCC Alumni Association website!
The SCC Educational Foundation took on the task of re-establishing an SCC Alumni Association several years ago. Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented in 2014, and the task of creating an alumni database began. In 2018, the first special event was held under the banner of the Alumni Association; the SCC Crab & Shrimp Feed. This website, along with a new alumni blog and social media pages are under development to help tell the story of Solano Community College today, and to help build a local network to support our alumni, current students and the College.
Solano College Today
SCC is making an impact on a daily basis by providing high quality, affordable education and workforce training. SCC educates 13,000 local students from diverse backgrounds in nearly 100 degree and certificate programs. SCC is one of just 15 community colleges in California (out of 114) to be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree program. The program is located in a new Biotechnology and Science building in Vacaville. Also, Autobodynews.com wrote “Vallejo’s new Solano Community College Auto Technology School is considered to be one of the finest of its type in the country.” The science and technology investment is continuing with a new science building under construction in Fairfield.
The College is also committed to improving the student experience. The SCC Performing Arts Center saw the completion of a two-year comprehensive renovation, a new Veteran’s Center and science building was completed in Fairfield, and a new main library in Fairfield will be completed in 2021. If you haven’t been to the campus in a few years, you’ll be surprised to see the changes!
